Fire Defence was founded in 1997 by Lynne McCabe as a fire extinguisher sales and service provider. The business grew rapidly with Lynne’s experience in sales and networking and a high level of customer care.

 

As Fire Defence took on service engineers, the business model was changed in 2005 from supply and sales of fire extinguishers with some ancillary sales in Health and Safety signage and First Aid to move towards offering clients increasing services with additional disciplines being offered.


In 2005 the engineers were trained in PAT testing and more emphasis was put on the Health and Safety signage and First aid Supplies.


2006-2007 with the approach of the Smoking ban led to Fire Defence offering No smoking solutions such as Cigarette bins, Smoking shelters and cig-arette alarms. In 2006 Jonathan McCabe became a partner to manage business development.


2008 saw the turnover increase by 40% and the company took on a head fire alarm engineer to move into Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting.


Ongoing training with all engineers means customers can enjoy reduced costs as multi disciplined engineers can do more jobs on one visit.


Fire Defence have achieved ISO9001 and BAFE SP101 and have implemented a management system that enables the company to have information per client such as a location list of equipment and a full service history per site.

Several all Ireland contracts to several major high street chain stores have already been secured. However our ethos has always been to concentrate on good customer care with our existing clients.

Unfortunately  the current downturn in the economy has seen some of these small customers close, however on a more positive note so many businesses now want to price around and find our rates very competitive, this saw the turnover increase by 48% in 2009, which we were indeed proud to achieve.
